45 After the main elements are aligned perfectly, sew the entire seam again with a regular stitch length. Use pins to hold the block together. You may need to stretch or ease the unstitched sections as you sew the remainder of the seam. Remember to use a ½” seam allowance and stitch just to the inside of the tack down line. If you sew too far into the seam allowance you will lose part of the design in the seam allowance and things will not line up correctly. Use your Laura Star Iron to press open all of the seam allowances. This is very important because you want the seams nice and flat for the finished project. Your finished tile scene should look something like this. Give yourself a big pat on the back, you just completed the most difficult sewing technique we use. It takes some extra time and patience, but the results of a finished tile scene are well worth it. You can finish the tile scene with a traditional quilt binding or you can spray mount it to a board and frame it. You will enjoy this beautiful masterpiece for years to come.
