NOTES WHAT IS A FILL STITCH? A fill stitch is probably the easiest to digitize, but the hardest to control. Most novice digitizers see a large area in a design and they immediately choose a fill stitch. This sounds like a simple solution, but will this can leave your designs dull and boringlooking every time. This is the main reason that auto-digitizing systems do not work. When software sees a large area to fill, it simply plops a fill stitch into that area. A fill stitch is simply line after line of running stitches that are stitched close together to cover a large area. The separation of points in a fill stitch will form patterns from simple basket-weaves to intricate carvings. Digitizing fill stitches is full of pitfalls that I will help you navigate in this section.
