NOTES LETTERING If you have very large letters in a design, you have no choice but to use a fill stitch for them. The first thing you need to do is forget everything you learned about lettering so far. The example below shows a satin stitch that has been enlarged to the point that the satin stitches were turned into fill patterns - most software will automatically do this when you enlarge lettering. The second example shows lettering that was digitized in the same manner as a satin stitch, but with a fill stitch pattern. They both look amateurish and sloppy. They will be hard to control, and this method adds a lot of stitches to the design. If you are creating fill stitch lettering you will use a different approach.
