NOTES WHAT IS EDITING? NOW THAT YOU FINISHED YOUR DESIGN, WHAT’S NEXT? The next step is to stitch the design on the same type of fabric as you intend to use it on. This should be the celebratory part of the process, but sadly, it sometimes is not. This is when something strange usually happens and you need to go in and alter the design to fix it. This phase of the process is called editing the design. Editing a design to stitch properly is much harder than digitizing the design! If you do a great job digitizing, everything looks perfect on screen and on the printout, but that doesn’t mean it will stitch perfectly. You have to allow for the way fabric reacts to thread. This section will cover most of the fixes you will need to know to make your designs run perfectly and look amazing! Simply follow the steps on the next page every time you digitize a design and you will save a lot of time. Let’s go over each step.
