FOLDED FABRIC One of our most popular techniques is Folded Fabric. This can be used in many different ways from borders of a quilt block to smooth transitions from fabric appliqué to the next. The first step for completing a Folded Fabric design is to make sure you have the technique correct. A B Placement stitch - shows where to place your folded fabric. Place it right-side down a 1/4” inside of the placement lines. Folding stitch - creates the crease for you fabric. Flip the fabric over the folding line, flatten out and tape in place. C D Tacking stitch - secures the fabric to the stabilizer and design. QUICK TIP - when creating a quilt block, we recommend trimming the corners of the first two fabrics. This will prevent the presser foot from getting caught on the fabric.
