NOTES RAGGED EDGE APPLIQUÉ APPLI-STATS Finishing stitch: 5-ply bean Tacking style: 2-ply with basting stitch to guide trimming Trimming style: 1/4” away from the finishing stitch Fabrics that work best: Cottons and denim With Ragged Appliqué, you begin just like Raw Edge. However there’s an extra basting stitch included about 1/4” outside the appliqués finishing bean stitch. This helps guide you as you cut away the excess fabric from around the appliqué. The basting stitch is then removed, and the 1/4” excess is then clipped to give the appliqués a ragged edge.
