NOTES WHAT IS A SATIN STITCH? When most people think of embroidery they picture satin stitches whether they know it or not. Most corporate logos are created with satin stitches as well as monograms. They are a very expressive stitch because of the way they reflect light. As satin stitches change direction they reflect light differently. When this happens, one color of thread looks like many shades. When you see an eagle stitched with all satin stitches, it will look so realistic because of the way the satin stitches shine.
