WHEN WOULD YOU USE A SATIN STITCH? NOTES You will use satin stitches quite often, and this is where analyzing art really comes into play. If you recall from the running stitch portion of this class, a stitch can only be 1mm at the shortest and 12mm at the longest. That is how you determine if you would use a satin stitch. If a line in the art is really thin, you would use a running stitch. If the portion of the art you are digitizing is wider, you would use a satin stitch. That being said, the following pages will show you everything you need to know about how to enter a satin stitch, how to control the satin stitch, and how to make them look amazing when you embroider them.
