NOTES HOW TO ENTER A SATIN STITCH The most common method of digitizing a satin stitch is called point-counterpoint. Think of it as a ladder or railroad tracks. When you click a point on the left side of a line, you need to click another point on the right side, just like the rungs on a ladder. We will start with a simple rectangle. You start a segment with two points (left clicking using your satin stitch tool) and then add another two points at the other end of the satin stitch. Never add more points than are necessary to finish. The next example shows artwork that starts out wide, narrows towards the middle, and then widens again. You would digitize this the same way. Start with two points on the left side, add two in the middle, and finish with two on the right. The same theory is true for satin stitches as it is for running stitches, never over-click and add too many points. For example 3 I have included a satin stitch that increases in width, you would add just four points to complete this design. EXAMPLE 1 EXAMPLE 2 Art: DU-SSbasics1-2 INCLUDED ART
