VARIABLE 2 - DENSITY NOTES The next variable is density. Quite simply, density is the distance between stitch penetration points. At standard density the measurement is approximately 64 stitches per inch. If you want to lower the density in a design, you will be increasing the distance between stitches. Conversely, if you want to increase the density, you are decreasing the distance between stitches. There are occasions where you would use all of these variations, sometimes in the same design.
