QUALITY CONTROL FEATURES NOTES Quality control is one of the most important tools in your software. When you are creating satin stitches, remember, embroidery machines have limits on how long a stitch can be. That’s why we employ a quality control setting called a split satin. The designs you see below were created with satin stitches. A satin stitch generally only has needle penetration points on either side of it, creating a bridge between the two needle points. You can see how that should look in example 1. Example 2 and 3 look different from example 1. That’s because we build some quality control elements into our designs. We may digitize a design with all satin stitches, but we tell the software that whenever a stitch goes wider than 8mm, the software should split the stitch. When you split a satin stitch it will look like the letter S in example 3. We do this for a simple reason. You will be able to drastically re-size your designs when this feature is built in. The design at 2” may stitch with all satin stitches, but at 8” it will stitch with all split satins. If you try to stitch a design with a stitch length that is too long, it simply will not stitch. You can imagine the problems that would cause. To avoid this problem just activate the quality control features in your designs. Always experiment with your quality control settings for the best results.
