Ms...Alain...eous From the EDITOR Happy August Y’all! It is a time for mixed blessings. The heat is about to really crank up and the kids are going back to school. Let’s all get together at the bar and celebrate air conditioning and nap time! I seriously have no idea how people survived back in the day. I cannot believe how quickly summer has flown by. It seems like just yesterday we were all wearing green and shaking our butts down Tybrisa – well, we are still shaking our butts down Tybrisa, just not wearing all green! Our feature story this month is all about our local shrimp business. It is definitely an eye opening article that everyone should read. Jimmy did a great job breaking it down for us and a huge shout out to him and all of the Beachcomber writers! So pleased we can all string an intelligent sentence together and in a semi-timely manner. Every once in a while, we leave out vital information here at the BC and I would like to rectify July’s issue with credit where credit is due: Wen McNally took that fantastic cover shot of our Tybee Island Ocean Rescue and William Harrell, of River Rat Productions, took the awesome drone shot of the pier jump. We have finally made it to Australia!!! Trisha Kearney went Down Under with the Traveling Beachcomber and double represented Tybee by rocking a Breezy Riders T-shirt!!! Way to show everyone how it is done!!! Call me, Trisha!! I see a ginormous A-J’s Watermelon Margarita in your future! The ultimate Tybee Tattoo Story continues to elude me.
