From youth sports and swim lessons, wellness programs and exercise, childcare during your workout, before/after school care and school break camps, the YMCA provides services and programs that can simplify your life, and bring your family closer together. As a member of the Y, you will also be exercising your heart, as your membership fees help children and families in our community. Manatee County The Y believes that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are, and what they can achieve. That’s why thousands of Manatee’s kids today are engaged in Y programs that encourage our core values – character, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Some of our programs and services include: • A successful literacy intervention program for K-3 grade at-risk students in Title One schools. • YDASH: The Y’s before and after school program provides supervised sports, group games, arts and crafts, and character development, for kids in Manatee County. Programs are held at Imagine North Manatee Elementary, Moody Elementary, Braden River Middle, Buffalo Creek Middle, Haile Middle, Johnson Middle, King Middle, Lee Middle and Sugg Middle schools. Registration is ongoing throughout the school year. • SOAR: Special Organized Adult Recreation offers yearround social and recreational programs for adults with special needs. The program is currently held at our Parrish Branch for $20/week - and is coming soon to Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch! • Swim Lessons: Our new swim lessons structure provides opportunities for thousands of children in Manatee County to learn water safety, drowning prevention, and stroke technique each year.
