GASPARILLA ISLAND MAGAZINE Brings Home Awards! 2017 Florida Magazine Gasparilla Magazine was a hit at the recent Charlie Awards, sponsored by the Florida Magazine Association. The staff took home an award – or Charlie, as it is known – for Best Design for a Department (History), and claimed an award for Best Design of an Advertisement. The awards ceremony was held on Friday night, August 11, at the Ritz-Carlton Beachside in Naples. “We are very happy the judges appreciated our work,” Hopkins said. “While winning awards wasn’t the main reason we created Gasparilla Magazine in 2013, it’s very nice to be recognized.
