STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS STEP D Carefully trim away the batting from outside of the tacking stitch STEP E Place your base fabric, right-side up, so that it completely covers the placement stitch. TIP Be sure your fabric extends at STEP F least 1/2" outside the placement stitch on all sides. This will be used for seam allowance later. Step 3 is a tacking stitch, which secures the base fabric to the stabilizer.
