Vintage Hand Bag steps VINTAGE HAND BAG BLOCKS g h Using the same exact size, trim out two additional pieces of lining fabric as shown. Using your sewing machine, stitch the bottom portion of the front and back blocks together using a 1/4” seam allowance, starting and ending at the hinge marks created in step D. Then, stitch the two lining fabrics together in the same manner, but be sure to leave the 5.0” gap open when stitching together the lining. k l In this step, you will be stitching only the top portion of the bag to create the opening. First, stitch the lining and front block together using a 1/4” seam allowance, starting and ending at the hinge marks created in step D. Repeat on the other side. Place the front and back blocks on top of one another, right sides together, and pin in place. Do this for the lining fabrics as well, being sure right sides are together. Note: you will need to leave a 5.0” gap in the lining fabrics that will be used when flipping the bag right side out. j Now, flip your lining piece right side out and place into the attached design blocks. Pin in place. Using the 5.0” gap, flip the bag right side out as shown. Heirloom Christmas | Premium Collection | 149 5.0” GAP i 5.0” GAP
