Cutwork Photo Frame steps CREATING PHOTO FRAME a b To begin hoop a piece of wash-away stabilizer. Then run the first machine step of the design. This is the placement stitch for your base fabric. c d Now, place your base fabric, face up, over top of the outside placement stitches, completely covering all sides. e f The next machine step of the design will be the marking stitch showing you where to cut out your fabric. Fold the 20.0” of ribbon evenly in half and place the open ends in the top center 1/4” inside the placement stitch as shown. Use tape to secure in place. Step 2 of the design will be the tack down stitch for the base fabric, as well as the tack down stitch for the photo window frame.
