STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS A B Place a piece of base fabric over the top of the squaring stitches. Be sure to completely cover all sides. Run Step 2 of the design which will tack the batting in place. C D Lay your appliqué fabric over the placement stitches. We’ll start our project by stitching out Design 1 of the reverse trapunto quilt block. Hoop a piece of no-show mesh stabilizer and stitch step 1 of the design. This is the squaring stitch. Step 3 of the design is the placement stitch for your appliqué fabric. This will show you where to place your fabric. E F Tack the fabric in place and trim away any excess fabric. Once trimmed, your design should look like this.
