good size mud hole and plenty of room to really get the trucks crankin’. We also ran a deep mud competition and Peter Lockwood dug out the old head to head lanes and we did some mud drags! Peter is the owner of Maximum Power Park in Poland, NY which I visited later in the season. The reason I feel it’s important to mention that is, that teamwork put forward here in the Northeast really does make all of the parks better. Seeing park owners working together for the good of everyone is how it should be and these guys are a great example of that. I’m glad to be part of their programs and look forward to many more exciting years for all of us. While the series courses bounced around from location to location it was followed by a crowd of spectators. The racers not only earned point towards the Northeast Race Series but were also able to Qualify and build points for Ricky B’s Throttle King series. The tug pad opened up in early evening and is was a great central point in the park for everyone to get together. The grudge match style of tugs is fantastic because you’ll see everything from Honda Civics to Mega trucks on the pad, heck I even think I saw an ambulance on the pad at one point. As the pad winds down the party winds up. Off to Ryan Doyle’s Low Torque Town! He gets the party hopping with a DJ and “stage” that goes till the wee hours entertaining everyone. Early Sunday morning a few trucks got out there to play but most are busy loading up, there are still plenty of ATVs and SXSs cruising the trails and playing in the pit set aside for them. another one! The park is awesome the people are great and I’m eager to get back there. A big shout out to all the crew that makes this happen, John Scrima, Adam Wemple, Roman Yudin, and of course JT Todd for the much needed shower! Oh and thanks to that group of you who pushed my golf cart up the muddy hill Saturday night! By the time you read this article they will already have had the 2nd event of the season so if you haven’t been to Mountain Maddness yet make sure it lands on your calendar next season! FEATURE 9
