EQUIPPING YOUR MEN’S SMALL GROUP Suggested Applications Steps October 1–8 Many men live with a general sense of futility. Yet these devotionals propose that biblical 12 manhood includes a sense of satisfaction that comes through understanding and achieving our God-given purpose. SAS: Discuss areas where you have influence as individuals and as a group. How can you support one another, so you can activate your witness in those arenas? October 9–15 This week’s devotionals continue to examine the principles and habits that lead to fruitfulness in a man’s life. SAS: Explain how discipline and determination work together to increase fruitfulness. Discuss the ways you prioritize time and money. How are your priorities revealed in your words and actions? Are you prioritizing God’s way or man’s way? Explain your answer. October 16–22 This week challenges men to follow Jesus’s example in pursuing and initiating relationships, in shielding others from various types of danger, and in producing fruit for God’s kingdom. SAS: Which of these devotionals was most challenging to you? Why? Take some time to pray together, asking God to turn your weaknesses into strengths through His power working in you. October 23–29 In these devotionals, you will see the difference between letting God handle your finances and trying to handle your finances on your own. SAS: Has your group considered making a financial gift to someone in need or to a nonprofit organization that serves your community? Discuss those options and decide on a way for your group to be generous in that way. October 30–November 5 This week, you will see that God desires for us to treasure Him and others more than possessions. SAS: In the next week, sit down with a couple of people (close friends or family) and ask this question of them, “From what you see in my life, what are the most important things or people to me?” Come back next week ready to share their replies. November 6–12 These devotionals will help your group see Jesus’s faithfulness to His friend Thomas, even in the face of Thomas’s doubts and fears. SAS: During the week, think of a person
