Fri/Sat/Sun—October 20–22•Empowered by Jesus “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5) As Christian men, we all can set goals to pursue relationships, protect those around us, and produce godly results. But we can’t accomplish those things in our own strength. Our power comes solely from our relationship with Jesus. We can pursue, protect and produce because Jesus pursued, protected and produced for us. Jesus pursued us in our sin, in our rebelliousness and laziness, in our lack of understanding His identity. He has protected us and promised that nothing will ever separate us from His love. He has produced all kinds of blessings because of our relationship with Him. He gave us the gift of life itself, and He created possibilities for us to be instruments perfectly designed to produce in the areas of responsibility where He has placed us. Because of what Jesus has done in and for us, we can respond to Him in love. We can trust Him to change us from the inside out, empowering us to follow His example. As we experience Jesus’ love, and come to terms with how much He has done for us, we will find ourselves energized to initiate and persevere in producing growth in His kingdom. As we learn how to abide in Jesus, and in His Word, we’ll discover the secrets to living a fruitful life. WEEK Week 2 How have you grown in your relationship with Jesus in the past year?
