Jeff Rupert and Veronica Swift: A Tribute to Stan Getz ���������������������������������������������������������������� SFSC University Center Auditorium Since the swing era, saxophonist Stan Getz had been known simply as “The Sound.” Jeff Rupert, along with vocalist Veronica Swift (Thelonious Monk Vocal Competition runner-up), Marty Morell (from the Bill Evans trio,) Richard Drexler, and Ben Kramer revisit classics made famous by Stan Getz. The Bossa Nova recordings including “Desafinado,” “Girl from Ipanema,” and much more; “Early Autumn,” “Moonlight in Vermont,” “Pennies from Heaven,” “Here’s that Rainy Day,” and other Getz recordings that became household favorites.
