THE KREWE OF STARS The Krewe of Stars announced the selection of Al "Carnival Time" Johnson and Irma Thomas as their King and Queen for 2018. The two native New Orleanian singing legends will be coronated on January 26, 2018 at the 2nd Annual Krewe of Stars Ball at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center in Metairie. Making the announcement on July 26 at the Mardi Gras Museum of Costumes and Culture was the krewe's Captain, Carl Mack, and Lieutenant Marshall Harris. "Wild Bill" from WGNO-TV's "News with a Twist" was on hand to broadcast live and the announcement was followed by a second-line through the museum at 1010 Conti Street.
