REAL FLORIDA LANDSCAPES™ 2017 DESIGN COMPETITION WINNERS SOUTH FLORIDA WINNER Eco-Tonos by Bryan Pepper University of Florida About Bryan Pepper Highly efficient, low impact design is an overarching theme for every project this busy dual degree seeking student approaches. Bryan enjoys integrating science and design by majoring in Sustainabilty and the Built Environment AND Landscape Architecture. Inspired by South Florida's unique native plant communities and the transitions between them, Eco-Tonos is a creative discussion space outside a conference center. A lone commanding Royal Palm on the horizon beckons visitors to walk through an abstracted pineland and toward the edge of a tropical hardwood hammock. This distinctive, avant-garde design maintains the authentic sense of place that most Florida meeting facilities lack.
