It’s about entrepreneurs and families providing things that the chains and e-commerce companies aren’t—the unique gifts and genuinely—friendly customer service that only small businesses can offer their community and visitors. Shopping local is how your hardearned cash can help the local economy in a very big way. The local businesses are the ones who support your community, schools, and civic clubs by giving items for auctions, giveaways, gift certificates, and many other things throughout the year. We all spend more money this time of year, so now it’s time to spend some of that with our local businesses. There are many ways to look local first this time of year. If having a holiday party, look to our local restaurants, caterers, and delis. Need beverages for your party— there are many options in the community to pick up your favorite adult beverage or sodas. There are many ways to take advantage of fantastic, independently—owned businesses. Small businesses add to the framework of our community. Shop with friends and take advantage of local for amazing customer service. Shop local. But remember, when the holiday season is over, don’t forget to continue to shop locally. Our local businesses—whether large or small, are critical to the economic vitality of our community. So, before you click the shopping cart online or drive out of town to pick up that item you didn’t receive after the holidays are over, stop and take a moment to see if you can purchase that item locally. You can make the difference in someone’s dream by purchasing locally; plus you are directly helping your community. It truly makes a lasting impact—all year long. Top ten reasons to shop locally are as follows: 1.To ensure our community’s prosperity. 2.Because of our creative business community and unique shopping experiences. 3.To support our friends, our neighbors, and the people we know. 4.To help keep jobs here and enable businesses to create additional jobs. 5.To support those businesses who generously sponsor events and youth programs throughout the year. 6.Because much of our sales tax is invested back into our community. 7.To save gas by buying local. 8.To receive outstanding, personalized service. 9.Because we don’t have to stand in long lines. 10.Because it’s about us—about building our economy, our community and our future.
