STEP-BY-STEP: BUTTONS A B Run the first step, which is a placement stitch. C D The next step will be a tacking stitch. Do NOT trim the fabric. The excess fabric will be needed when assembling the button. E F Remove from the hoop and tear away the stabilizer. Repeat Steps A through F to make the quantity of buttons needed for your design. Follow the steps provided by the button manufacturer to assemble the buttons. First we will make all the buttons needed for any project. To begin a button, hoop a piece of tear-away stabilizer. Completely cover the placement stitch with the base fabric. NOTE: You may want to consider backing your fabric with an interfacing due to the large number of stitches in a small area.
