CHOOSING COLORS FOR YOUR QUILT Picking Fabrics for Ragged Edge The ragged edge technique is a little different than most of our quilt designs because it calls for a fabric other than cotton. Each block is bordered by a fun fringed edge, therefore you want to choose a sturdy fabric for your frame. We chose denim for both it’s well known durability and great look when frayed. A Rainbow of Colors One of the first considerations when planning your quilt is where the color will be - in the embroidery or in the fabric. We chose to use white thread on each block, while varying the color of the base fabric. This arrangement of threads and fabric set us up to make this beautiful ombré quilt, but you can easily use colored thread to achieve your own unique look.
