Applique Instructions Follow these instructions to guide you through creating the block designs using appliqué fabrics. Designs 1-25 use the raw edge technique and the other designs will use standard appliqué. B Place a piece of batting over top of the placement stitches. Be sure to cover all four sides by at least 1/2” all the way around. D Using scissors, trim away the batting from the tack down stitches and out of the seam allowance. The next machine step will be your tack down stitch securing your base fabric in place. To begin, hoop a piece of No Show Mesh stabilizer in your embroidery hoop. The first machine step will be your placement stitch showing you where to place a piece of batting. The second machine step will be the tack down stitch, securing the batting to the stabilizer. Next, place your base fabric over top of the tack down stitches. Be sure your fabric is right side up and extends at least 1/2” on all four sides, allowing for a seam allowance.
