Stitching Blocks Together G H A completed combination square should look something like this. The next step is to stitch all of the individual blocks, and then create the combination squares for the quilt. Once you have created all your combination squares you wish to put in your large quilt, lay them all out on a flat surface. You can join as many or as few combination blocks together as you would like. The next step is to stitch the combination blocks together for each of the columns. You will use the same technique as you did when stitching the individual blocks together. Start with the first two blocks in one column. Place right sides together, lining up the tack down stitches and pin in place. Be sure all of the blocks are facing the same direction. Then, using your sewing machine, stitch slightly inside the tack down stitches, using a 1/2” seam allowance. Remove the pins as you go. Continue to stitch the blocks together in order, joining them to make the larger combination square in the same manner. CHRISTMAS CLASSICS | Premium Collection | 24 I J
