every craftsman’s skill prior to acceptance as a vendor. That year, they welcomes 10,000 people who came to the festival, ready to purchase hand-crafted items and eat fun, home-made baked items. A lot has changed since those days. A part of the reason why Heritage Village exists is in homage to the roots of the Fall Festival as a Heritage event. Just like in the old days, the Heritage Village, now run by Karen ���������������������������������������������������������������� and home-made heritage crafts, such as spinning, weaving, whittling, and more. One year, just like the Second Fall Festival, the Heritage Village included a whiskey still. Go ahead and satisfy your curiosity about what the Festival was all about once upon a time and consider what it might have taken to exist in a time long ago when everything basic like your clothes and food required hand skills and craft just to make it to the next day. These crafts take time and skill, and those who excel ������������������������������������������������������������������ between something made from years of experience as opposed to buying something in a store that will fall apart in your hands. This year boasts nearly 350 vendors and expects over 100,000 people to march around viewing booths and eating the food. This festival has a life of its ���������������������������������������������������� Asheboro and Randolph County. I challenge you to �������������������������������������������������� care and skill, something Dwight Holland would be proud to represent and approve, and most important, something that took a real craftsman to create.
