Alumni in Action Andrew Darst ’07 has been named Senior Consultant/Technical Project Manager at BST Global. Nico Hohman ’07 has been appointed to the Hillsborough County Historic Resources Review Board. Hohman is the broker/owner of Hohman Homes Real Estate Brokerage and New Home Consultants. Nicholas Letteri ’08 graduated from LECOM Dental School in Bradenton. Alex Posada ’08 began seminary in August at St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami. 28 JESUIT PERSPECTIVES • FALL 2017 Brad Schilit ’11 performed his fi rst solo recital in April after passing his fi rst recital hearing at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Lance McCullers ’12 of the Houston Astros was named to the American League team for the MLB All-Star Game in July. The Lance McCullers Jr. Foundation, which supports shelters and programs that promote pet adoption, assisted in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, helping thousands of displaced animals. Mark Yarnold ’13 graduated summa cum laude from St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami. Justin Kelley ’14 was accepted into the Society of Jesus and began his formation at Grand Coteau, La. in July. Tyler Hernandez ’14 competed for the silver medal winning U.S. Power Soccer National Team at the 2017 World Cup this summer in Orlando. The U.S. won its fi rst eight matches before falling to France in the championship match, 4-2. Hernandez also represented the University of Tampa at the City of Tampa Mayor’s Hispanic Advisory Council’s 19th Annual Latinos Unidos Luncheon in May. Nathan Mansour ’15 participated in the University of Dayton Summer Appalachia Program, a nine-week service commitment in Salyersville, Ky., which is in one of the most impoverished places in the nation. Mansour and his cohort facilitated a series of summer programs for the children, teens, and elderly in the town. He is a 2010 graduate of Saint Leo University and 2014 graduate of the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Chad Davis ’10 recently graduated from Notre Dame Law School and returned to Tampa to join the Burr & Forman law fi rm. Cameron Ruff ’13 has been named to the 2017 Rimington Trophy Watch List, which recognizes the top centers in college football. Ruff plays for the University of South Florida, which was nationally ranked for the fi rst four weeks of the 2017 season. Brendan Philbin ’16 and Cullen Finley ’17 competed in rowing for the Naval Academy and Georgetown University, respectively, at the Head of the Potomac Regatta in September. John Carter ’09 received the fi rst posthumous Spirit of Mazda award, for “his love for life and the sport of auto racing.” 2010s
