THE ARTS ARE FOR every ne In addition to five full productions and four multi-week class sessions, TNP’s KidzAct program expanded its commitment to assessing and filling community needs with classes for students with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. To expand theatre education into schools, The Naples Players continue to partner with Young Audiences of Southwest Florida to bring performing arts education into Collier County Schools. Students from East Naples and Immokalee Middle School are given workshops on directing, writing, acting, stage combat, costuming, lighting, and scenery throughout the year that culminates in their own original works performed in TNP’s Blackburn Hall with lighting and sound support provided. TNP’s outreach program continues to provide at-risk students the opportunity to perform in KidzAct productions with financial assistance provided by KidzAct Youth Scholarships. “We will never turn a student away due to financial constraints,” said TNP’s Education Director Craig Price. “Because of the generosity of our community we are able to offer great scholarships that make performing arts classes and experiences affordable for everyone.” Applying for a scholarship is simple and confidential and can be done online or by using the contact info to the right.
