106 TAMPA BAY MAGAZINE | NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2017
A bold color scheme was
chosen for the homeowner’s
college-aged daughter. Here,
natural woven elements
including the wood-framed
bed with rattan inserts and
woven privacy shades add
a neutral tone that contrasts
nicely with the bold colors
in the striped feature wall,
drapery panels, accent bedding
and area rug. Tropical leaf
print art, chevron patterned
mosaic lamps in three color
tones and other accessories
were used as the finishing
touches to this bedroom.
An oyster shell chandelier draws attention to the grasscloth inset
in the tray ceiling. A textured faux shagreen drum table with a
reclaimed wood top, flanked by two curved back chairs, features
a metallic sheen “slubbed” fabric with nailhead trim detail. The
floor-to-ceiling Ikat patterned, embroidered drapery panels help
create a backdrop for this cozy conversation area and continue the
curvilinear motif.
This classic writer’s wooden desk features
an angular iron base and is paired with a
comfortable, transitional-style slipper chair
in linen. The tranquil view of the Intracoastal
Waterway is framed by custom-embroidered
drapery panels.
