Dishes and Wishes
This fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Southern Florida featured food, libations, auctions and music by the Black Honkeys. Proceeds
from the event in Tampa will be used to underwrite wishes for children in the Tampa Bay area, who have life-threatening medical
conditions. Since its beginning in 1983, Make-A-Wish Southern Florida has granted nearly 11,000 wishes that have brought hope,
strength and joy to medically eligible children and their families.
St. Pete Glitter Queens Royal Ball
The St. Pete Glitter Queens held their sixth annual royal ball that they titled “Mod About the ‘60s.” Guests enjoyed a gourmet
buffet and dancing to the music of The Impac, a ‘60s revival band. This year’s gala benefited the Beth Dillinger Foundation, a
charitable organization with dedicated volunteers that provides clothing and other daily necessities to help maintain health and
personal hygiene for needy children, both in and out of the foster care system.
The Honorable Bob Dillinger, Pinellas and
Pasco public defender, and his wife Kay were
happy that the ball benefited the foundation
they started to honor their daughter Beth.
Kathleen Peters, a member of the
Florida House of Representatives, thanked
Joyce Shanahan, a founding member of the
St. Pete Glitter Queens for her hard work
and commitment over the years.
