Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico and is the direct cause of loss of life, both human and animals and it is going to take at least 8 months to regain a semblance of normalcy. However, the wellbeing of the affected stray dogs and cats is an ongoing crisis that requires outside help to in order to fix it. I am encouraging our whole Polk County to express their love for animals by donating to the many rescues in need of help. Our hospital is sort of adopting two shelters: Big Dog Rescue PR and Santuario Canita. Both are 100% operated by volunteers so your donations won’t be misused for bureaucracy. If you find it in your heart to help abate the suffering of these innocent animals, please consider a donation. Both shelters have Paypal accounts able to receive your monetary contributions.
