Beauty 4 minute anti-aging facial massage for a more youthful appearance Hippocrates once said that “healing begins with an aromatic bath and daily massage.” Oh, how true those words are, especially when it comes to the facial muscles. When your fingers touch any part of your skin with pressure, the circulation in that area is increased. Because the face is full of small muscles which are also very sensitive, it responds quite well when massaged carefully. With a daily 4-minute massage the tissues and muscles in the face relax, producing a more youthful appearance. the routine • Begin the routine with a cleansed face at bedtime or first thing in the morning. • Rub a teaspoon of massage oil into your hands then gently apply it to the neck and face in long upward and outward, sweeping movements. Be careful not to get oil in your eyes. • Slide one hand up the entire length of the neck, followed by the other hand. • Using the first and middle of each hand, slide firmly your jaw line from your chin your ears. Your index finger should be on top of your jaw and the middle finger underneath. • With your fingers together and hands pointing up to your brow, holding the fingers straight, press firmly with the edge of your hands either side of your nose. Hold for three to four seconds. Repeat • Release the pressure slightly and, rolling your hands on to your cheeks, slide your hands outwards with your index fingers stopping in front of your ears and apply a firm pressure. Hold for three to four seconds. Repeat. • With your fingers held in loose fists underneath your chin slide both thumbs upwards bo a u nos symmetrically around the corners of your mouth, in under your nose, around your nostrils and lightly off over the tip of your nose. • Wit With the middle and ring fing fingers of each hand, starting at the inner corners of your eyebrows, slide firmly outwards over your t ey o e eyebrows and using your ring finger only, trace very lightly inwards underneath your eyes. • With the ring finger of each hand, slide lightly outwards over your c closed eyelids and then l lightly underneath each ey eye. • W With your fingers together and and the index fingers leading the w way, alternately smooth your hands h up to the hairline in a firm li lifting movement, starting between th the eyebrows and finishing at the hairline hairline. • With With your your finger fingers together and using the whole of the hand, apply pressure with the right hand to the left side of the neck, working from the base of the neck to the jaw but avoiding the windpipe.
