Using scissors, trim away the excess fabric from the tacking
stitches. Be sure to leave a seam allowance where fabric
extends past the quilt block tacking stitch.

Place the fabric, face down, 1/4” inside the placement stitch
as shown.

Firmly fold the fabric over top of the folding stitch and finger
crease to neatly hold in place. Use tape if needed. Be sure
enough of the fabric extends over the edges for the seam
allowance.
The next machine step will be the tacking stitch for the
appliqué fabric, securing it in place.
Depending on the quilt block design, you will now run
any embroidery steps of the design until you get to your
placement stitch for your first folded fabric.
The following step will be the folding stitch, guiding you
where to fold your fabric next.
