Meet Dunedin
A neighborly drive north of Downtown Clearwater
will greet you with our Scottish friends in Dunedin
(pronounced DONE-EE-DIN). With Celtic shops and
art all around town, it becomes apparent there is a rich
Scottish heritage in Dunedin; after all, the town was
named by Scottish settlers.
Early residents from Scotland were cotton and citrus
growers, which isn’t surprising given that Florida is known
for its oranges. Learn more about the town’s past at the
Dunedin Historical Museum where more than 2,000
artifacts are on display.
Dunedin will greet you with a quaint, charming,
village-like atmosphere which attracts both visitors
s
and locals because of the friendly, walkable and
pet-friendly downtown, one-of-a-kind boutiques,
antique shops and friendly locals. Of course, a
trip to Dunedin is not complete without a stroll
down the town’s well-known Main Street. Make
your way to the heart of Dunedin to browse for
souvenirs in the shops, dine in restaurants,
and visit local breweries and wineries.
