Meet St. Petersburg
Driving South, and known for its title-holding 768 consecutive days with sunshine, we are pleased to
introduce the Sunshine City; St Petersburg. You’ll never get bored in the city of St. Petersburg because
of the diversity of attractions. In addition to the several beautiful beaches, St. Petersburg is known for its
culture and arts. You will delight your eyes in the Mediterranean architecture and Russian history of St.
Petersburg which can be seen at the various world-renowned hotels. Immerse yourself in cultural activities
including world-class museums and hundreds of art shops. St Petersburg has been named America’s #1
mid-size city for the arts.
Noting its history, St. Petersburg was named by Peter Demens, who named the city after his hometown of
St. Petersburg, Russia in 1875. St Petersburg’s, infamous, enormous “pink palace”, the Don CeSar, opened in
1928, and the architecture is a blend of Mediterranean and Moorish styles. It immediately pulled in some of
the era’s most celebrated and most notorious figures - both F. Scott Fitzgerald and Al Capone stayed there.
The district of John’s Pass is a laid back, fun, family-friendly
experience, unique for its pirate ship-like atmosphere. Walk along
the boardwalk to see varieties of coastal shops, restaurants, and
attractions that you can’t find anywhere else. With many different
attractions, such as watersports, dolphin watching, fishing, and
more, you will have too many options to choose from.
St Petersburg’s downtown Edge District is committed
to historic preservation. It is vibrant and eclectic with a
