THE PELICAN LIFE CHALLENGE
It’s amazing how easy it is to overlook what is happening all around us. We get so focused
on the moment that we somehow miss big things happening just outside our window.
Psychologists call this “perceptual blindness”. Basically, this means that our brains develop a
“blind spot” to otherwise obvious things when we are faced with too much stimuli. With so
much to do and so many people clamoring for our attention, it’s no wonder we overlook the
things going on in our cities. This is our opportunity to take the blinders off. This is a chance
to change our perception and truly discover our cities with fresh eyes.
TAKE THE CHALLENGE
The Pelican Life is built on three core values or principles. When you “join
the ock” and begin to carry the message of the Pelican Life throughout
your community, you agree to embody these three principles:
We are committed to understanding
and owning the needs of our
community. We take the time to listen
to and engage with EVERYONE in an
effort to BUILD UP our community.
Luke 10:29-37
Jesus is the ultimate example of a
person who lives for others. Following
His example, we are committed to
sacricially serving our community
and preaching the Gospel through our
actions, word, and love.
Matthew 16:24-26
