Each one of these
quilt blocks will all be
constructed the same way.
The image to the left will
show you how we will
label each block in this
tutorial. The cornerstone
fabric will be labeled
with a star and the other
pieces of fabric will be
labeled with squares that
say 2, 3, 4 etc. You can
see an example of a block
labeled that way here.
Just always remember:
the cornerstone block uses
two steps to complete
it and is stitched face
up, the secondary blocks
always have 3 steps
(placement stitch, folding
stitch and tacking stitch)
and are created using the
folded fabric method.
Designs always have these steps:
1. SQUARING STITCH - PLACE BATTING
2. BATTING TACKING STITCH
3. CORNERSTONE PLACEMENT STITCH
4. CORNERSTONE TACKING STITCH
5. QUILTING STITCHES + ANY ADDITIONAL
EMBROIDERY DETAILS THAT APPLY
6. PLACEMENT STITCH - SECONDARY FABRIC
7. FOLDING STITCH - SECONDARY FABRIC
8. TACKING STITCH - SECONDARY FABRIC
9. REPEAT (7,8,9) FOR EACH PIECE OF
SECONDARY FABRIC.
