Lighthouse of Pinellas
At the 11th annual Point of Light Luncheon to benefit the Lighthouse of Pinellas, guests gathered at the Hilton Carillon
St. Petersburg to honor three outstanding people who have shared their good fortunes with others: Joan Kline, Margaret Word
Burnside and Aaron Fodiman. The Honorable Joseph Donahey, a Lighthouse alumnus and board member, gave a touching, yet
entertaining talk about his blindness. The Lighthouse was established 61 years ago to provide comprehensive vision rehabilitation
training and services for those who are visually impaired or blind. The services help those with vision impairments to succeed in
all aspects of their lives through a multitude of programs that range from independent living skills to vocational rehabilitation.
Signature Chefs Auction
The annual Signature Chefs Auction is a fundraiser for the March of Dimes, which is working hard to prevent premature births
through research, education, treatments and more. Kelly Renner and Jim Stuart chaired the recent Tampa event that featured food
provided by world-class chefs. This event helps bring comfort and information to parents with babies in Neonatal Intensive Care Units.
