You can build your pizza at Slyce anyway you like by choosing your
favorite crust and then adding items you select from their
extensive list of toppings.

With two convenient
locations, one on
Gulf Boulevard
on Indian Rocks
Beach and another on
150th Avenue in Madeira
Beach, Slyce appeals to fans
of stone-baked artisan pizza.
However, as good as their
pizza is, the fresh salads,
appetizers and sandwiches
will also make you a fan.
Items such as meatballs
topped with red sauce and
a dollop of ricotta and their
garlic knots or bruschetta
are excellent, but creations
such as their Italian sushi roll,
made with organic arugula,
cucumber, mozzarella and
roasted peppers that are
wrapped in prosciutto and
given a balsamic glaze,
or their spinach artichoke
wontons with two sauces
for dipping, will make you
a devotee of their special
offerings. For us, the beach dog in a blanket
was a genius take on a longtime favorite,
as they wrapped sausages in pizza dough
to make the largest pigs in a blanket we
have ever seen. The two items that we
highly recommend are the seared Ahi Tuna
that is served on a freshly made slaw in
a portion large enough to be shared, and
the beautifully presented Wagon Wheel,
a small round brie served in a cast-iron
skillet covered in light brown sugar,
dried cranberries and slivered almonds,
along with crackers, apple slices, toast
and grapes.
For sandwiches, they have a French
Dip au jus with horseradish cream sauce,
a meatball sub, chicken salad, an Italian sub
you can order hot or cold, a roasted turkey
with provolone, guacamole, Applewood
smoked bacon, lettuce and cream cheese,
a Chicken Caesar Wrap and a roast beef
Buffalo Chicken pizza,
along with one called Pear
A Dice because it has fresh
pears, as well as gorgonzola,
mozzarella and prosciutto.
They even make a Chicago
Deep Dish packed with
ingredients. Of course, you
can build your own pie,
exactly as you like it from
their long list of ingredients.
They also make a calzone, a
Stromboli and sell pizza by
the slice.
Desserts come from Mike’s
in Tampa and are all first
class. We had Key lime pie,
double chocolate cake and
salted caramel cheesecake,
and we finished them all
despite being totally full from
our meal. Other tempting
options are at Slyce’s Sunday
brunch, which offers an
assortment of breakfast
pizzas including smoked
salmon, Belgian waffles,
omelets and fresh fruits.
Since there is a bar, they also serve a
variety of craft beers and a nice selection
of fine wines and spirits. The décor is
contemporary with a comfortable feel
that prepares you for the exceptional
food that is served here. Likewise, the
service is smooth and friendly, assuring
you that that their main concern is to
make customers happy. 9

wrap with gorgonzola and a balsamic glaze.
Each salad is a masterpiece. The
mozzarella stack with tomatoes and fresh
basil is gorgeous, while the antipasta
overflows with salami, ham prosciutto,
capicola, mozzarella, provolone and lots
of other garnishes, such as pepperoncinis
and roasted peppers. There is also an Ahi
Tuna Salad, a Greek Salad, a wedge, a
Caesar and a house salad. Each is worthy
of your consideration, and none will
disappoint you.
With all of the above being said, this is
a pizza place where you can order 10-inch
or 16-inch pies and even get whole wheat
or gluten-free crusts if that is what you
want. They offer 16 specialty pizzas that
range from a truffle-infused mushroom to
French dip with a side of au jus for dipping.
There is a Hawaiian, a hot-flavored one
with chilies and hot Italian sausage, a
