The late Gerald “Jerry” Rehm, former
state senator and one of Dunedin’s
youngest mayors when he was elected in
1964, was memorialized by the dedication
of State Road 580 in his name. He will
be remembered for his role in Caladesi
Island becoming a state park. Now that
the dedication is approved, his son Scott
Rehm plans to work toward the renaming
of the state road in his father’s honor.
