Combination Square Key
These combination squares provide examples for laying out your quilt using the different
shapes and sizes, and will help to make planning your quilt a breeze. We have provided
numerous layouts that can be combined to make the quilt of your Americana dreams. The
combination squares are completely customizable. Remember, with over 200 blocks in
a range of sizes, the possibilities are truly endless! You can make a smaller quilt with one
combination square, or you can combine multiples for a larger project.

Note that every combination square has color coded sections. Below you will see a color key
that indicates the order in which to sew the different sections of your combination square
together. For example, the combination square above has two blocks in the blue section, one 8”
x 8” and one 8” x 4” block. We recommend you stitch the blue section together first. Next, you
will jump to the red section, which you will stitch together second. Once you have continued
on and stitched together the tan section, you can then piece the three completed sections
together.
