Step-by-step
RADIAL QUILT BLOCKS

Using the same technique, continue attaching your secondary
fabric pieces. At a certain point, you will need to fold your
cornerstone fabric out of the way so that it doesn’t get caught
in the presser foot. Use tape to keep in place.
Trim away the excess fabric from within the design. Be sure
not to trim the excess fabric along the outer edges because
this will be used for your ½” seam allowance.

After the secondary fabrics are attached, run the placement
line for the cornerstone fabric. This will show you where to
place your excess fabric from your cornerstone piece.
Continue until you have finished attaching your final
secondary fabric.
Q R
Fold the edge of the cornerstone fabric under to prevent from
having a raw edge. Once you have created the fold, lay the
fabric down, overlapping the placement line by 1/8”.
You will need to create a fold that extends 1/8” past the
placement line. To make things easier, we marked that point
with a piece of tape so we know how far to extend our fabric.
