What is a typical day for you at Anita
Goodesign?
My typical day is anything but typical. I am
part of the billing and admin team, so I take
care of orders, invoices, payments, calls,
and mail. I’m also an event educator, so I
travel all over the country to do our 2-day
Embroidery parties. I am here to help my
whole team and serve any way that I can
at work.
How did you get involved with Anita
Goodesign?
After I graduated with a Bachelor’s in
History, I was looking for a full time job and I
was led here. Before this, I worked at Hobby
Lobby as a customer service manager,
so I was used to working with others in a
creative industry. Working here has really
opened my eyes to all the possibilities and
connections that embroidery creates.
What did you want to be when you were
a child?
When I was a child, I wanted to be a
veterinarian. I used to line up all my stuffed
animals and take care of them. I still love
animals, but I do not like blood, so I’m glad I
went with a different career choice.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare
time?
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with
my fiancée and our families. I also enjoy
reading and organizing.
What is your favorite aspect of your job?
My favorite aspect of my job is getting to
hear how I’ve had a positive impact on
other’s lives. I love when I am hosting an
embroidery party and someone comes
up to me afterwards with a radiant smile
thanking me and opening up about their
experience.
What is your most memorable
experience working at Anita Goodesign?
My most memorable experience working
at Anita Goodesign would be my first
traveling event. I flew out and set up on my
birthday and I was overwhelmed. The staff
surprised me the next day with a cake, and
that kindness blew me away.
Tell me about your ideal Valentine’s Day,
imaginary or real?
My ideal Valentine’s Day was last year
when my fiancée proposed to me. It was
just the two of us on February 11, 2017,
and it was a surprise sweeter than any
chocolate or rose (which yes, he also got
me those things). The ideal Valentine’s day
is not about the gifts, but about the union of
hearts and appreciating the love we have
been blessed with. We are getting married
in May.
What is your favorite collection?
My favorite collection is Sew Blessed. I
love the Scripture verses on the watercolor
printed fabric backgrounds!
“Working here has really opened
my eyes to all the possibilities and
connections that embroidery creates.”
