School and National Ballet School of Cuba,
and performed as a principal dancer with
National Ballet of Cuba prior to joining San
Francisco Ballet as a principal dancer in 2008.
The same year, Domitro received a Gold Medal
at the World International Ballet Competition
in Orlando, Florida. In 2017, Domitro left San
Francisco Ballet and is currently a sought-after
guest principal at many prestigious international
galas.
JOSEPH GATTI* (Principal Guest Artist)
studied at the Orlando Ballet School and
continued his training with Vadim Fedotov
and Irina Depler. Gatti was an Apprentice with
Orlando Ballet under the direction of Fernando
Bujones, and was coached by Orlando Molina
for the YAGP New York City Finals in 2003,
where he was awarded the Gold Medal and
a Scholarship to the Royal Ballet School in
London. Gatti joined the ABT Studio Company
in 2004, going on to dance with Corella Ballet,
Boston Ballet and Orlando Ballet. In 2017,
Gatti founded his own seasonal ballet company,
United Ballet Theatre.
CARLA KORBES (Principal Guest Artist)
was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and began her
ballet training at the Ballet Vera Bublitz, in her
hometown. Korbes trained further at the School
of American Ballet. In 1999, she received the
Mae. L. Wien Award and was subsequently
invited to join New York City Ballet, where she
was named the Janice Levin Dancer Honoree
and later became a soloist. Later, Körbes joined
Paci c Northwest Ballet, where she was quickly
promoted to principal dancer and performed
the full company repertoire, also originating
many new roles. In 2017, Körbes was named an
Associate Professor at Jacobs School of Music,
Indiana University. She continues to perform
internationally as well as guest teach.
SVETLANA LUNKINA (Principal Dancer,
The National Ballet of Canada) trained at the
Moscow Choreographic Academy. She joined the
Bolshoi Ballet in 1997 and was named Principal
Dancer in 2005. In 2013, she joined The National
Ballet of Canada as a Principal Guest Artist and
became a Principal Dancer with the company in
2014. Lunkina has performed with the Vienna
State Opera, Paris Opéra Ballet, and the National
Ballet of Japan. Her many awards include the
2001 Triumph youth award, the 2007 Prix de
Benois de la Danse and Ballerina of the Decade
in 2010.
EVAN MCKIE (Principal Dancer, The National
Ballet of Canada) trained at Canada’s National
Ballet School, The Kirov Academy of Ballet in
Washington, D.C and the John Cranko School in
Germany. He began his career at Stuttgart Ballet
and, in 2014, he joined The National Ballet
of Canada as a Principal Dancer. Among the
choreographers who have created roles on him
are Wayne McGregor, Marco Goecke, Mauro
Bigonzetti and Christian Spuck; he’s also worked
with John Neumeier and William Forsythe.
In 2016, McKie received the inaugural Kirov
Academy Alumni Award for his outstanding
contribution and commitment to the arts.
CHASE O’CONNELL (Principal Dancer,
Ballet West) was born in Fredericksburg,Va.
Chase studied at The Kirov Academy of
Washington, D.C., for three years. He then
moved to London to study at the Royal Ballet
School for two years on scholarship, and had
the opportunity to work with English National
Ballet. After school, he worked with The Paris
Opera Ballet for six months and then moved to
Salt Lake City to join Ballet West II in 2012.
Chase joined Ballet West’s main company in
2013 and was promoted to Principal in 2016.
GIOVANNI PRINCIC* (Dutch National
Ballet) was born in Udine, Italy, and trained at
the La Scala Theatre Ballet School. He joined
Dutch National Ballet Junior Company in
2016 immediately after graduation, was then
promoted to elevé, and joined the Dutch National
Ballet main company full time in 2017. Princic
appears in international galas, working with both
established and emerging choreographers.
BECKANNE SISK* (Principal Dancer, Ballet
West) studied at Longview Ballet Theater and
The Rock School for Dance Education. Sisk won
the Jerome Robbins award in 2007 and competed
at the Youth America Grand Prix from 2007-
2010, also winning a bronze medal in the 2012
Beijing IBC, and the 2012 Princess GraceDance
Fellowship award. She joined Ballet West II in
2010 and is now a Principal Artist in the main
company.
