IN THE
SPOTLIGHT
Here at Anita Goodesign, “folded
fabric” is one of our favorite embroidery
techniques. Spring Fling takes full
advantage of this, with a 12 fold frame
around each of the main blocks, and
4 sashing blocks each with a different
folding motif.
In the quilt blocks, a flower is stitched
out center stage. The folded fabric
frame comes next. In forming a circle,
the folded fabric frame puts a spotlight
on each of the lovely spring flowers to
make sure they are the focus.
Sashing blocks like the limelight too.
The smallest two take diagonal folds
from the bottom to the top. The large
rectangular block alternates from one
side to the other in a herringbone
pattern.
The square sashing block really steals
the show. It has a repeating, expanding
diamond pattern from the center out to
its edge, giving it an eye-catching look.
With the Spring Fling quilt, there are
enough spotlight to go around. No
matter which blocks you use, your quilt
is sure to look great!
