STEP 1 Crane Mobile
STEP 1 - Create as many cranes as you would like on your mobile, changing
your cut fabric’s size to vary the size of the cranes. For our example
pictured right, we folded fabric sqaures sized 10” x 10”, 8” x 8”, 6” x 6”, and
4.5” x 4.5” into the cranes that we arranged from big to small. Don’t be
afraid to get creative and try different combinations of crane sizes.
STEP 2 - Take clear thread, colored string, or a ribbon and affix the end to
one of your cranes. For ours, we used a sewing needle and monofilament
thread. Flip your crane onto its back, and insert the needle through the
hole on the bottom. Carefully push the needle and thread through the very
middle on the top of the crane’s back. Repeat this process until all your
cranes are in place. Embellish with a tassel or pom pom, and you’re done!
TIP: To keep your cranes from sliding around while being displayed, tie
knots, in the thread after each crane, or use a small piece of tape at each
point where you would like your crane to rest.
